Who's Who
JOHNNY ORENBERG is thrilled to be making his MTC MainStage debut in My Way. Graduate of Baldwin-Wallace Conservatory of Music. NYC: The Unsinkable Molly Brown (reading) with Sutton Foster directed by Katheleen Marshall. Regional: Ernest in Love (Algernon) at Barnstormers, Hairspray (Link Larkin) at Woodminster. Would like to thank M,D,A,MJ, and the "REAL DEAL" for believing in him.
JILLIAN SCHOCHET is excited to be part of such a talented cast and crew at MTC MainStage. Jillian holds a BFA in Musical Theater from Pace University and has been performing in the tri state area as well as around the country and world since the age of 6. She has performed in such prestigious venues as The Papermill Playhouse, Madison Square Garden, The Seven Angels Theater, The Julia Miles Theater, The Silver Whisper and the MGM Grand Casino. Favorite
theater credits include Debbie Gibson's swing in Cirque Dreams Jungle Fantasy, The Witch in Into The Woods, Meg in Brigadoon, Janis Joplin in Flashback: A Trip Through the '60s,and as a featured singer/dancer in The World Goes Round, Jane Eyre and Smokey Joe's Cafe. In
addition Jillian has participated in many recordings, voiceovers, cabarets, and has performed the National Anthem for the NY Knicks on numerous occasions. She was also awarded Most Promising Actress of New Jersey from theater critic Peter Filichia of The Star Ledger.
JODI STEVENS happily returns to MTC MainStage, after starring opposite husband, Scott Bryce in Love Letters. Ms. Stevens recently earned rave reviews as Hollywood film icon, Marlene Dietrich, in the Off-Broadway production of Dietrich and Chevalier: The Musical. During the run, she completed principal photography on the independent feature film, Pervertigo, due out in 2011. Other films include The Funeral and The Narrow Gate. On Broadway she starred in the original companies of Urban Cowboy and Jekyll & Hyde. Off Broadway favorites include, Claire Strider in Under Fire: The Musical, I Can Get it for You Wholesale, Eliot Ness in Cleveland, Body Shop, Antigone: The Musical and 27 Wagons Full of Cotton. Around the country Ms. Stevens has also starred in many regional productions, such as Heaven Help Us: A New Rat Pack Musical: Harmony: The Musical, by Barry Manilow and Bruce Sussman, Dracula: The Musical by Frank Wildhorn and Christopher Hampton, Annie: The 20th Anniversary, Twelfth Night, The 1940s Radio Hour, Me and My Girl, Fen, The imaginary Invalid, Come Back to the 5 and Dime, Jimmy Dean. On television she has guest starred in Conviction, Sex and the City, Central Park West, Guiding Light, All My Children and As The World Turns. Vocal Recordings include: her solo album Girl Talk, The Kurt Weill: Centennial, Johnny Mercer's: Dream (both for The Actor's Fund), Rodgers and Leonhart (featured guest artist)and Jekyll & Hyde (Broadway Cast Album). Her one woman show, A Broad's Way, is now booked at various locations thru 2011. ROBERT J. TOWNSEND is proud to call himself a New Yorker after picking up and moving from the west coast last month, and is happy to be making his Music Theatre of Connecticut debut. Most recently, Robert toured the country with The Radio City Christmas Spectacular, and has also toured in the national and international tours of Mamma Mia! (Father Alexandrios), Grease (Kenickie) and Camelot (Sir Sagramore). Recent regional performances include Thomas Weaver in The Story of My Life (Havok Theatre Company-Los Angeles Stage Alliance Ovation Award), Edward Rutledge in 1776 (Musical Theatre West-Broadway World Award), The Pharoah in Joseph... (CLO of South Bay Cities) and Michael in Smokey Joe's Cafe (San Diego Musical Theatre). Robert's other selected regional credits include The Seafarer (Nicky Giblin-San Diego Rep), Thoroughly Modern Millie (Trevor Graydon-Sacramento Music Circus), Jekyll and Hyde (Title Role-Cabrillo Music Theatre-Ovation Award), I Love You, You're Perfect...
